The question that could also be asked is why is everybody else trying to accommodate Skype when Microsoft could make it h.323 and/or SIP compatible, and on that note I found this blog entry interesting http://skypejournal.com/blog/ and this short discussion over at VTCTalk:
One of our faculty techs complained bitterly to me the other day about how some academics in his faculty insists on using Skype as a full-blown meeting room system - if I can call it that - then complains loudly over the quality - or rather, lack thereof.
You get what you pay for comes to mind.

I should also point out that SIP dialling to our three MCUs is workable using the direct FQDN records, as in:
6126211xxxx at mcu.aarnet.edu.au<mailto:6126211xxxx at mcu.aarnet.edu.au> (SD Codian),
6126211xxxx at mcu2.aarnet.edu.au<mailto:6126211xxxx at mcu2.aarnet.edu.au> (HD Codian),
6126211xxxx at mcu3.aarnet.edu.au<mailto:6126211xxxx at mcu3.aarnet.edu.au> (Polycom RMX)
Your mileage may vary, but please let us know how your connections to these MCUs goes alongside your ACSS bookings.
As always, support at nvcs.edu.au<mailto:support at nvcs.edu.au> is the best email mechanism for feedback and/or support.
