Sorry if this is slightly off-topic but the collective expertise out there is too good to ignore.
Our VC wants to run an online eForum to respond to students' questions. What we have in mind is a web page with a question box and an embedded video stream of the VC's head responding to questions. The students type their questions and he answers via his live talking head. Anyone can access the page and there's no registration/authentication.
I've mocked up a page that works well with the question box and a Quicktime stream from QTSS but for the life of me it will only work under Safari on Mac. Not on Firefox, Chrome or any Windows XP/7 browsers. The video stream is a .sdp file. All browsers have current QT plugins blah blah.
We don't have Windows Media Streaming licences which I think are required to stream under Windows.
We have a Codian MCU and a Tandberg content capture device - I'll talk to Arno about the possibilities of embedding a stream from those.
Any hints, including alternative ways of achieving this end, most welcome.
