About Biomirror-l
|
|
The bio-mirror project is a nearly global effort to efficiently distribute large-scale genomic data sets to mirror sites around the world. This provides each participating country with a cheap, high-speed, and low-delay access to major data sets from the various popular repositories (DDBJ, EMBL, NIH/NCBI, ...). This is around 100G of compressed data. This list is used to discuss the Australian bio-mirror node on GrangeNet/AARNet, based in Canberra and managed by the ANU for all Australian and regional users. Research on BM can cover both bioinformatic interests and large-scale data management interests.
